  • 16th July - Aboyne Sheepdog Trials

Fields next to River Dee at Potarch

  • 22nd July - 12th August - Art Aboyne (Victory Hall)

An ever changing art exhibition, showcasing local artisits, open daily with free admission.

August, 2017

  • 5th Aug – Aboyne Highland Games 
    150 years of tradition enjoyed by thousands of visitors to Aboyne Green. Book a stay at Ballogie Estate and make a weekend of it.

  • 6th Aug - The Gathering

A day to celebrate the life of Scotland's first original strongman and to watch legendary heavy lifters from around the world attempt to emulate Donald Dinnie by carrying the Stanes the width of Potarch Bridge just as he did in 1860. Free Entry 12 - 5pm

Local Artist Stephanie Vandem will be showcasing her 'Lifting' Exhibition at Potarch Cafe & Restaurant.

10 Days of Fun, don't miss the Scarecrow Trail around the village and Treasure Hunt.

Held annually on the second Thursday in August, the Ballater Highland Games prides itself on having something for everyone, young and old and is only 25 minutes by car from Ballogie Estate. Why not enjoy a short stay with us and visit the Aboyne and Ballater Highland Games in the one week? 

Enjoy Highland Dancing, pipe bands, stock shows and the famous Truck Show

  • 26th August – Lonach Highland Gathering and Games 
    Recognised as ‘Scotland’s Friendliest Games’ the Lonach Highland Gathering takes place each year on the fourth Saturday in August. Lonach is only a 40 minute drive from Ballogie. Book accommodation at our estate and enjoy the weekend in Deeside. 

  • 27th August - Ballogie House Wedding Venue Open Day

           Join us on Sunday 27th August for our Open Day, meet with our wonderful event suppliers and enjoy a welcome drink as you explore Ballogie House, Marquee and Grounds. The perfect, secluded and tranquil location for your distincitve day!

September, 2017

Her Majesty the Queen is the patron of the world famous Braemar Gathering, the biggest event of the Highland Games calendar, which always takes place on the first Saturday in September. Braemar is only a 46 minute drive from Ballogie, the perfect base for exploring Deeside.    

Meet artists and makers practising in the North East of Scotland when they open their studios to the public.

An epic obstacle race (10km) starting on the banks of Knockburn Loch. Race over rough terrain, through forests and dirt tracks by yourself or as part of a team.
