We are currently renovating the area above the Butterworth Gallery to create 2 additional bedrooms for Sarah Harker and her family to live in.  The area above the shop was once lived in by the shop keepers, turning into a store room in the latter stages and eventually the stairs were removed from the shop to allow for more space so the loft was blocked off and forgotten about.  We started the work on the 9th of July by knocking through the upstairs solid wall into the shop loft.  The renovated area will be fully insulated to building regulation standards and during the work we hope to connect the new wood burning stove into the existing heating system, reducing the dependence on heating oil for the shop and house.  We hope to have completed all the work by mid-August, allowing us to move onto the next project!
